Founder and CEO
Nicholas is a go-to man on addiction related matters for National press, TV and Radio. He has consulted for many private addiction rehabs throughout the years and setup Help4Addiction which is one of the largest addiction advisory services in the UK.
Nicholas’s vast experience within residential rehabs has allowed him to reach out to his network to handpick some of the biggest and most influential names to treat his clients at Verve Health.
Nicholas has suffered with addiction personally and managed to get clean in Jan 2008. His mission is to provide the highest-level treatment in beautiful surroundings at affordable prices.
Wendy has been supporting people in recovery from substance misuse and trauma for over fifteen years, starting from a volunteer project worker, progressing through to leading a team to becoming Service Manager, Regional Manager and now in her current position as Director.
She has worked extensively across the criminal justice, private, public and charity sector. Wendy also qualified as a Psychodynamic Counsellor in 2010. Always one to seek a new challenge, Wendy obtained her Level 5 in Leadership in Health and Social Care and was appointed in 2016 as a Manager of a residential detoxification and rehabilitation service and during this time won two Leadership Awards from the Hertfordshire Care Providers Association.
In 2019 she won the category of Most Innovative Care Team and the following year won the overall Care Leadership Award in front of a packed 400-strong audience at the ceremony at Knebworth Barns.
Dr Olalekan Otulana MBBS, DRCOG, MRCGP, DFSRH, FRSPH, MBA (Cambridge)
Dr Ola, as he is fondly called, is an experienced Physician with Special Interest in Substance Misuse Management and has a wide range of experience in the assessment, management (including detoxification) and residential rehabilitation of patients with various alcohol, drug, and substance addiction problems.
Dr Ola is known to be very passionate about his patients and treats every patient as an individual to offer a person-centred treatment approach. Addiction is a medical disease, and no two patients are the same – that is his ideology, hence the reason he gets excellent reviews from his patients from time to time.
Apart from being an experienced physician in the field of addiction for over a decade, Dr Ola is also skilled in chronic disease management, strategic planning, and business/health management. He is a strong healthcare services professional with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Cambridge University Judge Business School.
Dr Michelle Zandvoort, CPsychol.,PsychD., Msc., Bsc.Hons
Michelle is registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) as a Counselling Psychologist and is also a full member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Michelle also has a Masters degree (MSc) in Counselling Psychology from London Metropolitan University an Honours degree (Bsc.Hons) in Psychology from the University of Kent as well as a Practitioner Doctorate (PsychD.) in Psychotherapeutic and Counselling Psychology from London Metropolitan University.
Michelle is also an exceptionally experienced supervisor and has completed her BPS approved training in clinical supervision.
Michelle specialises in treating addiction, trauma, eating disorders along with other mental health related issues. Michelle also wrote the dual-diagnosis treatment programme for The Priory.
Louise is a registered mental health nurse with the NMC. She has 10 years’ experience in nursing and 20 years’ experience working within mental health hospitals, HM prisons and caring for the more challenging and mentally unwell clients.
She has been a manager of a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and worked within GP surgeries in Primary Care. She specialises in substance misuse and worked most of her career as a substance misuse worker.
Louise chose to specialise clinically in this area due to the stigma attached to substance misuse and the lack of support for those who suffer with the disease. Feeling that if she could make a difference to one person’s life during her career then she has done exactly what she set out to achieve.
Jakana is a highly experienced Counsellor and an expert in addictions and has been working in this area for a number of years. She is in recovery herself so has lived experience of overcoming addiction. She has a background in psychodynamic theory and has been working with CBT and DBT approaches also. Her interests are trauma work.
Danielle has had over 20 years’ experience in hospitality. She currently manages housekeeping, kitchen staff and front of house. She aims to offer clients the best service whilst they stay with us, going above and beyond to suit each individual’s needs and providing a home from home experience and embracing the family feeling.
Senior Project Worker
Ben has grown up in a mental health home, experiencing the best and worst, but through his own drug and alcohol recovery discovered his calling to help those in need. Coming from a very creative household, he prides himself on being authentic and emotionally driven.
He is a qualified hypnotherapist and trainee therapist, and he hopes to continue learning throughout his career, heading towards the cutting edge of mental health treatment, but is dedicated to trying to bring that to all.
Ben is very passionate and excited within his job, teaching meditation, taking groups, leading virtual reality therapy, doing CBT workbooks, workshops on mental health and 1-1 personal therapy.
Michelle has been a chef for over 20 years and has worked in many restaurants including some very well-known ones along with various catering establishments. She is qualified in nutrition and health, diabetes care and eating disorders. She also holds a level 4 in food hygiene. Michelle is exceptionally experienced and would be delighted to cater of anyone that has specific dietary requirements.
